I nabbed this old Shapleigh's Hewing Hatchet from an antique store last week. When I saw that it was completely original, including the original sticker, I couldn't resist. Don't know how old it is, or much about Shapleigh's axes other than generic info, so if anyone knows anything about this hatchet please chime in.

Plumb 3.2 Pound Michigan pattern Double-Bit

Picked this up at a Flea Market. I had to re-handled it and re-profile it, but it cleaned up really nice and chops very well.

I found a nice sheath for it at a local sporting goods store, which fit it well and keeps those razor sharp edges from destroying my camping gear!

Thanks everyone. The Shapleigh's Hatchet is how I picked it up from the antique store, except for a little oil on the head. I want to keep it in original condition since it has the original sticker. Cool piece of history!
