Two new axes in again. A Gränsfors American Felling Axe with a straight helve and a Hultafors Qvarfot Felling Axe. The latter is sold as Hults Bruk Kisa in some markets, but not here.
Right of rhe bat, at least compared to my GB Scandinavian, the HB has a lesser degree of finish as for the hang. Grain orientation is also less good, but both has some run outs and so on.. pretty sure its not a problem though in either case. However, the bit of the HB is just as nice as the GB and has a mirror finish edge. Its also more of a true convex compared to the Scandinavian, wich comes real thin, who i got some rolls in first time using it. That probably wont happen with the HB.
As for the new American, this one is 1/4 - 1/2” longer from poll to edge then my other two and heavier. Thats handmade for ya
Oh, and the HB might get a nicer custom helve down the road, but i’ll get some use out of it first.
Thanks for reading.
