A couple of numbskull questions...

I know I could probably find this stuff out by searching and such, but maybe someone could help me out.

Is the Starmate hole as large as the Military hole?

The Starmate and the Military are the only G-10 liner locks currently available? If not, which others are there? Are there any soon to arrive?

The small stuff, in the range of the CoPilot, Navigator, Pegasus, and Mouse Knife, are there any others? And the CoPilot is going to be available Plain?

What is the story on the Lum Chinese?

Does the Lum Tanto come with a ti handle or G-10?

What is coming and cool?

I have been busy elsewhere, sorry. Got really into fixed blades, then realized that folders still had a place. Went out looking at folders and decided that I really love the Axis Lock on the Ares but the studs are a deal killer. So, here I am back at Spyderco, thinking of reacquiring a Military and assessing what is out, what is new, and what is still to come.

So many questions, Grasshopper. Buy enough Spydercos and you can leave the academy

- the Military has the biggest hole of any Spyderco
- other G10 linerlocks incl the Centofantes and Wegners
- depends on definition of small...dragonfly, spydercard, various jrs..
- The Lum has ti handles and has been a long time coming (still waiting on my 2

)
- Cool things around the corner incl the Gunting, the full size Dyad, the Chinese folder and the ti handled Calypso

Welcome back to the fold(er)!

Aloha~
The Co-Pilot is available with a plain edge.
As for other small folders:
Michael Walker
Toad
Dragonfly
Cricket

I never knew the copilot came in a plain edge. I thought they were all serrated. Cool. Learn something new everyday. I'll have to check my Spydie catalog again.

Indeed. I recall Cutlery Shoppe offering the plain edges on a closeout at 2/ $45 shipped!! So I paid an extra $5 each for initials engraved. That was some years back though.

G'day David, nice to see you back

. Worth noting is that the Keating designed Chinook is coming as a lock-back in G10. Also the Lum (my pesonal favourite

) will have dark green Almite scales with a gold chinese bat logo, drool, drool.

Take care,

Man, I really want one of the Lum Chinese folders, ever since the proto pics were shown. Actually, ever since I saw an original Lum in one of the Knives annuals. Just love the shape.

Clay, good to be back. Good news on the Lum Chinese, I am really looking forward to that, I was speaking to Bob Lum yesterday, and it only increased my desire. On a side note, what did you figure out for your boating knife?

Brian, no kidding.

David,

I finally bought a G10 Harpy on closeout from SMKW and had Mike Sastre make neck sheath for it. I'm very happy with the knife and Mike's sheaths are outstanding. The Harpy is the only knife I've managed to do any serious damage with

All of you waiting for the Lums, take heart. They are shipping. I finally got 4 in the other day after having them on back order for over a year. Plain blades. (Still waiting for the PS blades, Hopefully it won't be another year.)

Plain edge Co-Pilots are in too.

Nakano, the Co-Pilot was originally offered with the plain edge but was discontinued a few years ago. They just brought it back. What was old is new again. (You won't get them at 2/$45.00 though)

Dennis, are these the "Chinese Folder" models, or the other model ? I was under the impression that the Chinese folder wouldn't be out for a few more months (at least!).
I would love to be wrong !
TIA
Brian

Thanx for the help with the answers. Always appreciate.

Sorry, no bat on the Lum Chinese folder. Couldn't make it stick to the Almite.

Beautiful piece though. Will have a sample at the Blade Show.
