a couple of pages on rat use

That's a nicely used RW--the kind I like to see. Safe/drawer queens seem like such a waste of a good knife.

RW and HR are the two knives I've ordered. Good links.

This is one thing that I would love to get this forum back to...not just getting new knives, although getting new knives is an awesome feeling, but also using them and sharing that here.

That guy posts as "River 8" over on the Swamp Rat home forum and his RW is the most used that I've seen.

Well, if I EVER (two-week wait so far ;) ) get my HR and RW, they'll both be put to use, and I'll try to get some pics on here.
 
Well I was going to order a Camp Tramp for just this very purpose as was depicted in the link provided and for hard SAR type work. When I found out the Tramp was discontinued I was depressed . . . I am surmizing the RW can do everything the CT can do an perhaps more due to the unique design. Thanks for this post - you've redeemed me . . . as I think I can still order a RW?
 
You can, but Eric said that everythings going to change after the end of the year. :eek: If you want the Ratweiler in its current configuration, best order it soon.

The scales in that photo above appear black, while the one shown on their website is a bluish color? If I ordered one today, which one would I receive?

actually from what i understand its more of a greenish color. they are black because of moisture wich darkens the micarta and makes it a little bit more shiny. if you wash it with soap it will look like the one on the website again.

Perhaps they are more of a green-ish color, my monitor might be skewing the colors a wee bit.. *shrug*
