As my 16 yr.old son says "Wicked Cool" Very nice, rawhide painting is temperamental. got to be just amount of moisture. Looks like you nailed it. Very nice......Randy

I do the paint while the rawhide is damp then sand it with 1500 grit black paper then wax.
