A couple of SJ questions.

About three or four years ago I bought my second Busse which was a Satin Jack. After looking through the threads I think it is what everybody calls a " husky satin jack". It has a polished spine and a flat grind with no Busse logo. I was wondering if this was the earliest version of the SJ and was there a purpose for the polished spine? Also are sterile versions military overruns and are they more collectable than ones with a logo?

3 or 4 Years ago was not the earliest version, though your description DOES sound like an early version. I think the spines were polished just because it's kind of nice. Most Satin Jacks were sterile.

Thanks Mike, I should have said that I bought it on ebay about three or four years ago. Do you happen to know what year they came out?

Thanks Lazlo, It's been sitting in my safe for several years but lately I've been thinking about stripping it and making it a user.

buckman#10 posted a pic of a bunch of older Satin Jacks just today...
