A couple of wild edibles today !

I'm glad to see a few wild edibles now starting to appear as I hike.

Today I came across some Fairy Slipper Orchids whose corm can be eaten raw or cooked....

And one of my favourite wild edibles, Miner's Lettuce. In my opinion this is as good as any salad leaf you can buy !

Nice, the corm is at the base of the plant right? Were there many of the slippers out in the woods or just the two in isolation?

There were quite a few of the Fairy Slippers, I have read where they are endangered in many areas now but they still seem quite plentiful here.
