A couple questions--??

First of all, I'm mildly curious as to why the overall length is used in preference to blade length--this is contrary to standard practice; and it has me constantly perplexed as to just how much blade I'd be getting.

Second--of all the knives on your website page; the Yusa Cherokee Special seems unique, in that nowhere can I find a price on it.

Can one still order them? What is the price?

A couple minor things--the Silver Trimmed knives and sheaths are beautiful; but Silver on working knife and scabbard, would soon be ruined--making it an uncalled for extravagance...

On the other hand, the bone or antler handles would be quite suitable for a working knife--can any of the working knives be special ordered with bone or antler handles?

Finally--Is either the Biltong--or the small 6" kukri suitable as a boot or sleeve knife? Can't really tell without seing them in someone's hand.

Oh and I just wanted to say--some very nice looking knives--and entertaining and informative posts...

Just the way it's done, the length of handle will vary depending on the length of the kukri. A 15" kukri will probably have about a 4 1/2" handle while a 18" kukri will probably have around 5", but since each are hand made all will be a little different as well as different models have different specs.

Yvsa Cherokee Rose is a special offering and isn't always for sale by HI, you will have to contact Yangdu directly at HimImp@aol.com to see if she has any or if she can get you one. You can also watch deals of the day (DOTD) to see if one pops up. The normal offerings by HI can be found at http://yhst-7333098713883.stores.yahoo.net/ .

The kukris that do use silver are fully functional, though most people who buy them use them for display.

Yes you can special order antler handles on your kukris / knives.

Biltongs are fully capable of being an edc knife if you so want it, though personally the shape of a kukri is not fully used in something so small. A biltong will have around a 3" blade and handle.
