These are some recent straights I've finished made out of some san mai and damascus. This is one particular style of mine that is homage to the Swedish Heljestrand MK series.

Thanks for looking!

These first two are from a W2/A203E san mai blank I got from a bladesforum member:

First one is around 7/8 wide and is dress in green stabilized snakeskin sycamore from burlsource -

This is from a narrow section of that blank and ended up at 6/8 and dressed in stabilized African wenge -

This one is some Hitachi blue cored 416ss san mai. Used some green dyed curly oak again from Mark at burlsource -

Last one is some Damascus I got from another bladeforums member. This one is 7/8+ width and dressed in laminated shell abalone scales -

Most of these I'm grinding 1/2 - 3/4 hollow these days which can get nerve racking (and I certainly have a few in the trash as a result). Here is a photo of the grind in general of these -

Fantasic work, Joe.
I used to carry a SR in my sock.

Thanks! Sock is an interest place to carry a SR

Where can these be purchased?!? Nice work.

Most of my stuff is either commissioned or sold through my website.

Those are stunning!!

Thanks!

What size wheel are you using, Joe? Really nice work:thumbup:

Hi David,

I'm using a 6" wheel for the primary grind before heat treat. After I switch to a 3-4" to give the double stabilizer look and also to get a hollower grind.
