A few years ago I made a few Scagel inspired folders and at the urging of a couple of members of this forum I have made a couple more. These are a lot of work to make and require a lot of planning but the results are pretty cool and my original idea. All have 4in blades.

The top one has a CPM154 blade, 416 stainless bolster and stacked handle material consisting of modern materials like carbon fiber, LSCF, G-10, micarta, titanium and the end piece is green canvas micarta. Gold anodized titanium liners.

The traditional one has a blade made of 1095 with hamon and a brass bolster. The stacked material consists of desert ironwood, white paper micarta, brass, natural linen micarta, bakelite, stabilized maple burl, red and white spacers. The butt is crown stag with blue anodized titanium liners.

Thank you for looking,
Chuck

Hello!

Absolutely amazing concept and immaculate execution!

Hope to own one of these myself in the future!

Best regards,
Alex

ONE of them would be me. :)

I was clearly impressed a few years ago when Chuck created his first of this style. Although Chuck's modus operandi rarely allows for repeat performers, I found this style too much of a breakthough for him to not pursue it often.

I've badgered him often, and reminded him of this the past Blade Show.

Good for him! He created yet another pair in two distinct flavors. He sent them to me for imaging. Oh, and would I like rights of first refusal.

No refusal: That stag version is ten feet away from my desk as I talk.

It's as impressive in hand as it is visually. Solid opening, lockup, and fitment.

And, such an unlikely tribute form to an iconic fixed blade.

I'm a happy camper. Thanks Chuck!! ;)

Man, Chuck! I think these are my favorites from you and believe me I've seen allot of your work.

I'm impressed with the way the stag crown was done on a folder. Nice work, and congrats Coop.
