A couple things about BM 42...

1)One thing I found, if you don't like the Bechmade sheath that the knife comes with, you can get a somewhat flashier one if you use the sheath that comes with a Mini-Mag Light.

2)If you want to put that factory finish back on your blade, either because you dropped it or sharpened it and don't like the way the edge looks or something, you can get a Scotch-Bright © pad (those green ones) and swipe it against the blade and it will add those verticle scratches that the factory finishes the blade with. I was told that the factory has a Scotch-Bright © wheel that they finish the blades with.

Hope this helps anyone.

You a mind reader? I been using my Mini Mag sheath for two or three days at most! I saw it siting there and wondered if it would work, so... I never got around to posting it because my old brass bali is a lot slimmer than a 42, I thought. its a tight fit with mine. First time I've ever used a vert. sheath for a Bali-song, I could get used to it.

Nice to know that someone out there thinks like me!

the problem is that those mag sheaths aren't veery durable at all. When I was on the ship I would go through them like real toilet paper. But a good idea just the same. Before I got some of Clay's X Concealex sheaths I was carrying mine in the benchmade sheath n the inverted position...worked fairly well.

I use the Mini Mag sheath with part of the cover flap sewn to form a belt loop, then wear it IWB .. pretty good. Works for 4" and 5" bladed balisong.

I just saw that Mini-Mag sheath with the flap on it today. I thought about it, but it was a good inch longer than my bali. It was under $4 though.
