Why doesn't anyone talk about Elishewitz knives?
How much would a Normark sheath for a Busse knife?

I used to love Elishewitz's designs, but anymore he's gotten way to "artsy" for my taste.

I agree that Elishewitz has gotten a bit too carried away with cosmetics in his handmade designs as of late.
This saddens me, I look at his collaborations in the Benchmade catalog and wish I could have one of each, I especially find the Nimravus and Ares designs impressive - I wish his handmades were more like the stuff he did for Benchmade.

I was able to fondle a couple of his early pieces (I couldn't tell you which ones?!), and I guess I just wasn't that impressed. Prehaps its because "lightweight" was just getting started, remember the first Endura you laid your eyes on? Allen's work was very solid and heavy for that matter, that wasn't the current bandwagon. I guess that just left me with a bad taste, and I have never given it much thought until now.

This was a good thread, it really got me thinking! ;)

I don't like his narrow saber grinds, or many of his more unique edge shapes.

I do like his bolster lock and integral bolster handles.

I really don't like his current pocket clips.

Ever thought about giving him a call and asking him to make you a knife the way you want it rather than looking at his work on the seconday market or his "standard models". You will find Alan and Valerie to be fantastic people to work with. He is more than able to make a knife for you the way you want it.

You may want to email Normark and ask him as far as the costs of his sheaths.

I have always liked Allens work, His line offers a lot of choice in the way of materials and lock types. with liner, frame and bolster designs available. Every one of his folders that I have ever owned or handled has been very strong, he can't help it if they also look very classy and are not the typical flavor of the month flat grey slayer.
Another thing I appreciate is that his work is always evolving to the point where it seems there is always something new every time you visit his website.
These days, I think far too many custom makers sit back on a popular selling model by offering slightly different variations of the same basic design over and over again.

Just my 2 cents worth.

As far as Allen's knives are concerned I like them very much and I carry one every day. They have a very smooth action and are built exceptionally well. He has many different styles, so there should be one that you like. He has a new clip that I think works very well and his new E-Lock also looks interesting.
