A curious creature crashed my Northfield 66 photo shoot

While taking pics of my recently acquired Northfield 66 knives on an old stump this afternoon I noticed a curious onlooker. But he wanted to do more than just stroll by. In fact, no matter how I set up the knives he wanted to be part of the action. And it wasn't just the pretty bone handles that attracted him. He crawled all over the knives.

Perhaps a badly behaving knife knut comes back down the ladder a bit?

Those past life memories can really hang on.:D

Carl.

well, i have no idea what he was doing or what he wanted with your knives
but COOL pics

i love how even if the knives arent in focus, he is ;)

Maybe attracted to the scent of oil used on the knives? Some oils can smell kind of 'sweet'. I used to see those red wasps taking refuge in an old riding lawn mower I shared with my neighbor, when living in Texas. No idea what attracted them to it, but it didn't take us long to figure out we needed to 'inspect' it before starting it up. :D

Anyway, pretty neat pics.

Had something similar happen a few years ago :D

The little guy just didn't want to leave. But why are they attracted to traditionals ? :D

Okay...I have no love for wasps.

I, sadly, would have to run away screaming like a little girl...

Nice knives, though.

He had no interest in me whatsoever. I took at least 60 photographs while he was walking all around the knives, across the top of the stump, and up and down its sides.

That's totally cool Doug, thanks for sharing the photos and the chuckle

Very cool pics! I must admit, you are a better man than I. Fire would have been involved had that been me.

Great shots, Doug, and a wonderful take on the situation, Carl!!
Made my evening!!
I sometimes think I am backing down that ladder myself!!

Doug, sir, you have a lot more guts than me! I would have left the knives there and found the wasp freeze! I built up a severe allergy from so many stings though. Very nice photo shoot there! To think you got joy from that and most of the summer those darn things are what keep me from really relaxing behind the lens.

Fun thread :)

I have seen a spyderco ad that says "all of gods creatures have knives" but a butterfly has to be one exception to the rule. Not too dangerous unless you inhale it. I had a swarm of mud daubers join me in a pair of coveralls, I dove into the pond and started slapping them in the coveralls. I too am sensitized to wasp stingers.
