Just wanted to show some pictures of the new custom I got from Scott at Razorback Knives.

The blade is 5160, 4"X1/4"x1 1/4"
Scales are brown jigged bone
Overall length is 8"

I really like the old-style look combined with a heavy thick blade, I am going to enjoy taking this one in the field!

I had a chance to handle some of Scott's knives at Blade. They really call out to be used. Let us know how it does.

Yeah, I am very new to customs, and so far I seem to see knives that are "works of art" that I would be afraid to use, and then there are knives like this that just scream "go cut something with me!"

p.s. What kind of bird is that in your avatar?

It's a Kingfisher--which is what Shaldag means in Hebrew.

Isn't it great that thee are affordable custom-made knives that we can walk around with, use, and not baby? I also like the sheath.

The sheath is great!, to me it looks like something straight out of the Trapper era!

Scott does excellent work. I have a couple he made and both are great. You have a winner in the one you got there, those handles really stand out.

Cerberus

When I got into knifemaking this was the niche I wanted to be in, the working using knives. I get more satisfaction out of hearing what the knife did in the woods and fields rather then hearing how nice the knife looks in a glass display case. Thanks and I look forward to some feedback.

Scott, I really like the stag-handled one in the image you attached.
Very nice working pattern.

Thanks JW. I really like that pattern alot. It's going to be a standard pattern I'll be making. BTW, that one is available. :D

Even though I am getting myself a production knife this month, I am still saving up for a knife from Scott (and folks, they're not expensive, I just have bills). I was fortunate to handle several at a recent MD gun show, and fell in love with the african buffalo horn handled chopper(and plan on using it, on the devil Kudzu and sticker bushes and vines and.... . It was a beaut!

Scott, I promise something soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like the blade shape on the bottom 5160 hunter you have listed as available. What would 1 run in 3/16" D2 with the jigged bone handle?
