A custom I love, is there a name for this blade? What is the handle material?

Hey guys,

I'm curious, I see guys posting "loveless design" knives all the time (still gotta figure out where they get the loveless designs and how come it's ok to use them when it seems copying another guys work is usually frowned on?) and thought maybe what I have is an actual pattern or design that's out there.

Anyways, I bought this knife some years ago, maybe close to a decade, it was made in town by a local guy named Ralph Bailey, I think I got it for 50 or 75 bucks. It is ATS-34. 5" blade. I have never carried or used it, because I loved it so much and sometimes I try to save things (and I have plenty of other knives). I've finally decided to strap it on. I have two questions though

1. Is there a name for this blade style? I love it, probably would pick up another one again. The top edge is not fully sharpened

2. At the time he told me this was "french green linen micarta", if I remember correctly. He said it was the last he had. It is hard to tell the color in the pictures, it is a dark green very dark, with the pattern you see in the pics. Anybody seen this before? It really is great looking.

Thanks.

I would call that blade a modified drop point. The large swedge makes it more of a fighter style as well.

Looks like Bailey's take on a Loveless Chute Knife and the handle material looks like linen micarta like others have said.

Most try to duplicate from the Al Williams book - Living on the Edge. Some have been fortunate enough to get patterns from the Loveless shop before Mr. Loveless passed. My understanding was that Mr. Loveless was always willing to share.
