The only history I have of this is that my brother asked a fellow Airmen/Knifemaker on McConnal AFB in Kansas to make him a knife.
He ended up being deployed before he could start on my brothers knife, so he gave this one free to him. Its obviously unfinished. He does not remember the name of the Airmen. It was originally given to him powder coated grey, but my brother dremeled that off, obviously. It had a logo on it, but it looks too MFGed to be custom as it was obviously laser engraved as it had a triangle logo with COMBAT on one leg and SURVIVAL on the other leg. The third leg is not visible but there is a globe with a blade bisecting it in the middle of the triangles legs. I first thought it was a raped United Cutlery knife but couldn't find anything close to the basic profile. I think it may have actually been laser engraved by the maker.. I am a little confused as to why it would be unfinished but be powdercoated and laser engraved.. He said it was "tool steel" but my brother knows... lets just say he knows about as much of steel as I know of thermonuclear dynamics... Boom? I figure its probably is, as it is unusually heavy. Then again that could be that its thick as a crowbar. The handle is unfinished green micarta and stops short of the regular hilt and is piped on. The tip has what I figure is an unfinished gut hook but I cannot say for sure. The grind is saber and uneven on either side. The sheth is Kydex but IMO poorly planned and assembled. I have several pictures. Its actually really quite comfortable in hand. I took possesion of it to put a decent edge on it since the one it currently has is benchground.. and quite.. quite... horrible. If anyone has any info on a triangle logo like the one I mentioned from Kansas, LMK please.
Pics galore, with my E4 for size comparison. You can just make out the faint trace of the logo in th e last pic, but since its dark, Ill have to wait till day light to take a better picture.
