A new Damascus pattern I just made out of 1084 high carbon and 15n20 steel. The handle is an artifact fire starter that is fossil walrus ivory. est. 1500 yrs old and was made by a Siberian Eskimo from St. Lawrence island Alaska. Sterling silver ferrule and other fittings are made of nickel silver .Blade length is 8 7/8 inches and overall is 13 3/4 inches. It is San Mia. The core is Aldo's 1084. Hope you like it. I had fun making it.

....I am just literally knocked of my socks...;)
Spectacular blade and real beautiful handle material, but what really makes this knife outstanding to me are the fittings...tasteful proportioned guard and awesome real ferrule that embraces the handle material....thats exemplary.
...the fittings make this knife so...Spanish and "muzzle-loading"
I love the ferrule!...is it chased or repousse?
...So I dare to ask: how did You made the flower pattern?
I would be very grateful if You are willing to share.

Very, very nice!

my favorite from you so far. that damascus pattern reminds me of one of those fun house mirrors that distorts your image :)

Thanks folks. I appreciate the comments. Have not come up with a name for the pattern yet but circus mirrors I understand that. Now HMMMM...how to tie that into a name.

That's a nice one! Such a great looking pattern, is it basically a West Texas Wind san mai damascus? I love artifact handles, there's always so much character and history with them, and the "live edge" end has a cool look. Adding sterling silver takes it up another notch too, imho. Beautiful work!
