a daunting commission.

I just recently got into pimping knives (this winter) and I am only just starting to get good(ish). my father seeing my handywork so far has decided he wants to commission me to make gift-out knives for his company. they would be going into gift bags to customers and to employees and the like. he is set on blue handles with the company logo in white on them and would want about 40 done.

obviously just in terms of capacity alone I am not sure I could produce 40 quality customized production knives. he wants them done in 2-4 months ( I work full time bare in mind) further more the best idea I can come up with for this would be to make the handles in blue, cut out the logo shape from it, create a white insert of the same shape and glue the insert in with epoxy. a tedious process to say the least (though I have done this before it is time consuming and has a lot of room for error.) and lastly I need a knife that is fairly easy to pimp. no crazy surprises under the scales. but still at or below the $30 mark

anyways, any suggestions or thoughts on how I could pull this off? or should I just give him the number of an engraver?

side note; some sort of acid etching or heat coloring are not out of the realm of possibility. but he is leaning hard toward the blue and white logo handle

If you believe you will be in a time crunch perhaps you should buy laminated material (it will look blue but be white on the inside) and inlay or overlay a thin piece on the handles. Then send out for custom engraving or laser etching.
