Sorry, no pics from me, but there will be many coming from Ethan. He's adamant about getting the pic post thing down, and he wants to run some commentary his projects today. I was camera man. We took about 75-100 pics of 2 of Kabars new knives, some BK11 action and a BK2 versus a steel drum.

I did get the full house, hour and a half ride around of Half Moon Ridge, we were doing site surveys for the Becker Gathering this spring. Got a bout 3-4 sites laid out that look to be good, but location depends on the number of participants. Of them would be awesome, and it would take us having to take everything in a one of E' RTVs. That's the one I want, but we can only put about 5-6 tents up. If everyone hammock camps, it would be great for 5-10 people.

Had some lunch, talked about some stuff, and just kinda hung out. Gotta love a day with tha man, lots of neat and interesting stuff to talk about. Wanna see some pics, well, all you'll get is a bunch from the shop time, I didn't take any on the ride around, I was busy drinking coffe and BS'n, LOL.

Should have them up soon.

Sounds pretty sick buddy, from what little I know Ethan seems like a pretty interesting guy. Those pics might finally put me over the edge in picking up a Becker.

Yeah, he made a fire barrel. The idea is start a series of threads about "actual" hard use of knives. Firebarrels are used the world over and soldiers make them, as well as others. Most folks have one in their backyard, if they burn stuff. I have a 9' firepit for that.

Anyhoo, look to see new posts coming from Ethan himself, on the BKT and Kabar lineup of real world, necessary uses for knives that are meant to be used hard.

Some folks will argue that there are better tools to put holes in metal drums, but if all you have is your knife, will it do it?

A BK2 will, and I can say (because I took the pics of it) only about 1/4" rolled, and not much. Its hard to see in the pics, but I think we got a shot of it pretty well.

No blade to blade competitions, just BKT knives being used in possible real scenarios that show up from time to time.

Ethan is a awesome dude, your lucky to hang out with him moose.....

Cool man.
I have my fingers crossed that the spring gathering doesn't coincide with a conference date.
Otherwise, I'm there.

"2 of Kabar's new Knives" ... do tell.

Anything not already out there ?

I know, I know - you can't talk about it, but we won't tell ;)

Sounds like a good time. PICS !

Looking forward to the pics. When will the Spring gathering be? I'd like to come up and photograph that.

Spring gathering, huh? Man, I'm gonna be waist deep in a clinical rotation come spring time. Probably won't be able to make this one!

The sucketh runneth over! :(

I know Ethan and myself want to make sure you will be there, so we will work around the conference dates, I'm sure. We'll hammer out something closer to the springtime and make sure everyone's cool with the dates.

I can talk about it. Its the USN Mark 1. There are 2 versions, a Kraton and a Stacked leather. 5" blade, 1/8" thick, full flat grind, and a false edge. Great little knife, the swell in the handle feels great, almost making it feel too large in the hands, but it lets you work with comfort. Ethan will have all the pics up, I have copies, but I am going to wait on him to post, he wants to do the run through on them.

Spring time, not really sure when, I know more by the end of Feburary. April is a busy month, the ESEE Woodland class is going on, and so is PWYP. It could be in March, before all that, or in May after. We'll see.
