Hi.
We are just in autumn these days, the color of leaves are not yet
changed though.
I had a short (two or three hours of walk) hike with my kid and
found some interesting things, those I wish to share.
Wild walnuts found on the trail. The nuts are already taken by squirrels, nothing left.
This is "Trichosanthes cucumeroides", in Japan it's called `melon of crow'
it tastes sweet for only a short time and then turns out to be bitter; nothing edible.
Some birds love this fruit, maybe the name comes from this.
This is me and my daughter, three months old. Taken in the Zuisenji-temple guarden.
In autumn, the raptors tends to gather into updraft and sometimes
forms a large flock.
These are black kites gathered to the updraft formed on the edge of
the hill. I could see almost fifty kites this time. This shot was taken from my house, through my binocular.
After I took a bath, I found this guy walking on the window glass and
taking insects. You can see the special pattern of it's feet on the picture below.
Lastly, the blade shot of the season.
Thanks for looking.
