Today was just another typical Saturday in June for me and my BK13, but by most people it might seem a bit unusual.
You see, my family and I run a kettle corn stand in the spring, summer, and fall at events all over the state of Minnesota.
For those who don't know, kettle corn is a sweet and salty popcorn, almost like caramel corn, but not as sweet and a little salty.
Anyways, we also sell cotton candy and other types of candy, including pixie stix.
(for those who don't remember what a pixie stix is, it's pure, flavored sugar. refer to below picture)
There was quite a few children today who bought pixie sticks today and my wife offered to open them for the kids using my knife, a BK13.

Along with opening lots of candy for children my Necker also cut a cheese burger in half for my son, and opened a beer for a lady.
Now the thing about this day that you might find most unusual is the type of event we were working.
..........................a woodtick race!!!!
That's right, those little bloodsucking bugs you find in tall grass!:barf:
People buy one, or more of those little eight legged parasites, and 2 are placed in the middle of a circle and the first one out of the circle wins.
Besides the nasty bugs, there's merchandise, food, and beer for sale, and lots of fun is had by all.

The event is an annual fundraiser run by the local fire department and it actually draws quite a crowd, mostly bikers.
It's lots of fun and it's for a good cause.
I took this pick at last years event. Those are just a small potion of the bikes that line up the street about 1/4 mile.

After the event when I got home there was a package waiting for me on my back porch.
It was some 25 round magazines that I ordered from the Sportsman's Guide for my Marlin .22.
Once again my 13 was ready for the task of opening the box!

I also used the 13 to pop the memory card from my phone to upload these pictures, and I'm sure I'll use it a few more times before the day is through.
I think tomorrow I'll carry my Eskabar and give the Necker a break.
