This is going to be a long and pic heavy post, so be warned. ;)

Today was the first day this year that we got to get out to our woods in WV as a family. It was a beautiful sunny day, albeit a bit chilly; it didn't get out out of the low 40's where we were in the mountains. We went on a nice hike around some of our property lines, and generally just enjoyed being outside after having spent so much time indoors during the winter.

Naturally, I brought a few knives along with me for the hike.

I was really hoping to test out my Dog Soldier 8; however, it is not being delivered until tomorrow so I missed out on testing it this time. That actually probably turned out for the best though, because for the first time I was able to get some real use in with my regular INFI Dog soldier, and I'm very impressed. I used the DS for some light branch and vine clearing, some wood splitting, and a little bit of carving. The handle and blade length make it an extremely comfortable knife to use.

My @Dan Keffeler Sasquatch was also hungry today, and wanted to make some sawdust. I know it's not INFI, but we are all knife lovers here so I figure it's safe to share.

Next, there was a tree that I wanted to take down since it got damaged during a recent storm. Sure I could have used a chainsaw or an axe, but what fun is that?

I also wanted to mention that although my Dog Soldier was on my hip all day, I hardly even noticed it was there; it rode extremely comfortably in my @Azula Gun Holsters sheath. I usually like a dangler to drop my knives down a bit lower than the DS rides, and I was afraid that it wouldn't be comfortable with it being up higher, but I'm now a big fan. I'm not sure I'd feel the same with with a fusion handle, but it's perfect for the Res C!

Coolio pics! I still own property on the Blue Ridge next to where I grew up through Jr High. I could spend a week chopping up all the crap there- I look forward to doing some of that this summer when I make my annual trek to visit my little piece of the mountain.

I dig that Keffler every time I see it, that's a nice hunk of chopping monster! Nothing to sneeze at with that one. Certainly a nice design and that handle looks pretty damn comfy, took some nice big bites!

Nice write up Ben, nobody can take pics like you do lol
Any thoughts about Ur annual INFI in the woods trip this year ?

Nice pics that DS6 looks like it went right through that oak knot and I don't see any damage at all. Thanks for sharing sone great pics of some fine knives in action.

Great pics !! Thank you for sharing :-)
That Keffler looks really cool !!

That ASH2 looks sweet too :-)

Thanks! I find the handle on the Sasquatch extremely comfortable, it's the only handle I have ever experienced on a big knife that I like as much as Busse's fusion handles.

Thanks buddy. In regards to the INFI in the Woods camping trip, yes! I'll be posting a thread about it sometime this week. ;)

But......but......but......No ASH2 action? :(

The ASH-2 did get a little bit of action, but I mainly focused on the other two today. Every time I pick up my ASH-2 I feel like I need to use it more, I love that knife and I feel that they are extremely underrated in the Busse community.

Yeah, that was definitely some knotty wood! After taking the picks I found a couple more really nasty knots and the DS handled them like a champ; I had to really beat on the DS with my baton, but there was no damage to the spine or knife edge whatsoever.

Same here. It really is a great do-all blade. I can' wait until the custom shop opens back up so I can get some new scales put on mine. I always keep a large blade strapped to the side of my backpack (which is camo colored) and while its fine in rural settings, in town the safety orange scales are like a big neon sign that say "HEY EVERYBODY!! THIS GUY HAS A BIG ASS KNIFE!!!".
