A day like today

(sorry for my friends that are having troubles) reminds me of how lucky I am and that God's blessings sometimes takes a while to understand.

Wife gets home from a business trip and showed me how much she missed me :)

I'm watching the sun rise, gentle rain is falling. I'm playing my guitar rather badly as the hummingbirds swarm and swoop around the feeders.

The coffee is hot and sweet like my wife.

My children love me, I have friends that care, I have a good if not great job.

I'm alive.

Guys take a little time this weekend to slow down and look for your blessings.

We try to everyday Will . Living here in the woods surrounded by the Lords handy work , it is hard not to .

Amen.

Have a four day weekend which means I just worked a week of midnights. Held over one day for a half hour, one day for two, Thursday for 6.

Slept ten hours Thursday night, yesterday took the wife to the mountains. I was still out of it enough that it didn't mean as much to me but it meant the world to her. Seeing that made it all worth it.

Now I just have to lose 100 lbs and get in shape to take her favorite hike with her. Seven miles in and seven miles out (minimum) to Windy Peak in the Pesayten Wilderness. That's if we go in from Long Swamp. It's more like 12, and an uphill finish on the return, if we go in from Irongate. Really pretty country, but I've never really hiked. Just the three mile round-trip hike we used to take (with only a 1000' elevation change) kills me.

Ok, time to stop whining and look for blessings.
