Well guys, here's a design of mine, and I just wondered what you guys thought of it. It's a chopper all the way. It's got about a 12" blade of 1/4" stock with a full tang. It's got a single finger cut-out for finer work. It also has a modified drop point, which should be very strong, and has a lot of belly. It has a thick handle (nearly 1" thick) made of textured canvas micarta which is held on by three large stainless pins. It also has two lanyard holes.
Here it is:
I find that a 12" blade is just about right for heavy chopping (IMHO, of course). I'm surprised there aren't more knives made with a thick 12" blade. I wish some manufacturer would make a knife similar to this one (a BKT brute with a 12" blade and a slightly dropped handle would be great).
So, what do you guys think?
