I make a lot of kiridashis for people and I almost always just stock remove a rectangular bar of steel.. but this time I had fun doing some light forging on one and thought it came out pretty cool. Feels great to hold too. It is 6" long and 1/4" Aldo 1084. A piece of copper tube peened through a hole. Also thought it would be fun to try a false edge. I usually make little leather pocket sheaths that can also be used as a neck sheath.

Anyway... I might try a run on these and hopefully may have a few with me at Blade.

yeah.. I sometimes do a small bevel on the flat side when I have too much hammer texturing close to the edge. This one isn't fully sharpened yet, so that bevel is poorly defined in the photo. Most of the time it is completely flat ground with no bevel on the flats.
