I have been making lanyards using the 4 strand square weave process but I found these long beads and decided to try something different. I think this one turned out pretty good. The bead is secured both via the knot and melting the end of the strand but I think I am going to flow some two part epoxy in the gap as well...can't be too secure after all!

That is a great looking knife. I am not a fan of big/thick lanyards, but looks like you did a nice job on that weave:thumbup:.

Those look great. I really like the beads. Mind if I ask where you got them?

I am also learning lanyard tying. Would love to get me some of these as well.

I secure some lanyard knots by letting some super glue wick in between the cords. I put a drop on the end of a bent paper clip to apply.

That is 4 views of the same bead btw...there is a different design on each side. Those long beads come from TAD Gear.

Those are some awesome beads! Any idea where one can buy some?

Edit: Just saw TADgear. I need to read closer next time. thanks for sharing!

The TAD Gear skulls are a larger type skull than ones you find in craft shops, they weigh in probably about the same as the Emerson skulls at 5 grams. The Emerson skull are another nice one to use as well, you can find them at http://www.edcknives.com

None of these are the cheap plated type, these are pewter and you can also get some of them in sterling...just be prepared to pay a nice price for the silver.
