A discussion of various dagger styles - webpage

Anyone here know much about jambiyas?

Picked up one last weekend &
can't decide if it's pure tourist, or
whether it is a user of some sort.

I lean toward the latter due to the steelwork.
Need to check hardness tonight.

does the jambiya have any markings?

No markings
No decorations

But the thing is like a "saber-tooth tiger" tooth
that is all fullers.

Pic soon, I hope.

pics?
jambiyas are a weird evolution in fighting knives
itshard to find a good jambiya knife fighter
yet easy to spot a bad one ( the scars up and down the forearm are a big clue )

Well done, looks like a user, mist tourist Jambs are shinier than that, like they've been chromed. The edge will tell the story too. If it is sharp or close to it, its a user. Tourist models tend to be more gaudy.

Not an expert on this type of knife, but I can spot crap pretty quick these days. That don;t look like crap.
