Today, during one of our few warm, sunny days in Washington, I was sitting on my backporch, admiring my freshly cut lawn, enjoying a cigar, and fondling my Specwar, just kind of daydreaming. Then I got to thinking about an order I have in with Special Operations Equipment. Then I thought, "Man, I wish I could get all the cool stuff I like in one place"

Then I thought, "Wouldn't the ultimate website be a place where you could go to buy premium cigars, good scotch, great gear, and the full line of Emersons? Of course, the signature item would be an Emerson made cigar cutter"

Then I started thinking about how I could make it happen...then I woke up.:(

Scott,

That's funny, because I was sitting here in the house, in the air conditioning as it was 90+ outside with humidity to match, daydreaming about sitting on my own back porch in a place where it does not get that hot...and if I wanted to, I could crack rounds right off the back porch and no SWAT Team would roll...

Then I thought, "Well, there is the Microtech Issue too..." I'd like to be able to own whatever pocketknife I want. So I settled in Oregon, very rural area. Then I woke up. :(

Don, you struck a nerve--my dream is just to get out of this stupid condo and have my own place in the country--with a range a short walk away in my outer back yard!

Right now it's an hour drive to either of two shooting ranges, or an hour and a half to my favorite range. Indoor ranges are closer, but expensive and kind of stifling.

My dream home would be where I was conceived--in West Virginia. My parents HAD to move to Ohio to have me...:(

BTW, I now have an Emerson La Griffe...don't like neck carry, so I have to find a place to stash it for practical use.

Yeehaw,

Yeah, when you leave the house with an Assault Rifle Case, the magazine pockets on the outside, even if they contain no magazines, tends to make your average Marylander poop in their panties.

A big, black (or O.D., or Camouflage, whatever) Soft Case like that has a tendency to scream, "There is an ASSAULT RIFLE in HERE!"

[sigh]

Literally, the looks you get, you might as well walk out of the house with the Bushmaster AR slung, it would look more casual to these mental midgets.

I didn't mean to GEEF (

) on your thread Scott, just my "Dream Site" is someplace where I can be free, and have the stuff you want on your "Dream Site," but without all of the superfluous nonsense that often accompanies it in the way of attitudes from people.

I guess I should be glad to live where I do.........

West 'By God" Virginia.

There is a reason why they call it 'Wild, Wonderful, & Almost Heaven'. :)

Wow, this is a little scary!
As my wife will attest, I've always maintained that my ultimate home would be one where I could sit out on the back porch and pop rounds from my M2HB .50 without worrying about where they landed or if they were going to disturb the neighbors.

I didn't quite get that, but the neighbors don't complain when I take my AR15 out back or bust off the .44 magnum at a passing varmint or two. (skunks, possum, and dillos) Stray dogs get a .177 BB in the butt to encourage them to crap elsewhere.

I ran into my neighbor up at the mail box not long ago, and he said "Did you get a new gun?" I laughed and said "yeah, I did." He cracked up and told me he'd made a bet with his wife. Seems they notice a marked increase in rounds expended whenever I get a new one.
:D

I love country life!

As to the website,
hmmm. Y'all got me thinkin';)

As to the "Dream Site", that might be in the future. I'm hoping all is on track with Eric's plans.

As to the "Dream Place", near as I can tell it's Wyoming. Dominos has to air drop Pizzaz, but what the hell.

Don, I have a Two Longgun bag by Blackhawk that goes everywhere with me (as Oliver can attest).

I call it my "Golf Bag". It holds my ".223 Iron" and my "12 Wood". :D

We often talk about moving back to my beloved Colorado, where I grew up, specifically Grand Junction where I grew up.

Not long ago I was talking to my Grandparents who still live there. When I asked what I could expect to pay per acre, they said $1,000 per would be expensive! EXPENSIVE? I am used to paying the outrageous Washington prices.

You can bet that got me thinking: "40 acres, my gun range could be this big. But for $60,000, it could be THIS big. And for just..." You know how it goes.

Oh yeah, baby! Colorado or bust!

Hey Don, everyday when I go to work I DO carry my AR to the batmobile slung over my shoulder. Though I try to be discreet, you should see the wide eyes and brake lights from passing motorists, even though I am in full uniform.:D ;) Always a good way to start the day!
