After a little waiting, I received these two beauties in the mail today.
The Large 21 has been modded and converted to D/A by Butch Vallotton. As you can see, the scales have been anodized Blue and then jeweled. The clip has been anodized purple and then jeweled. The back spacer is a vibrant green, has been fileworked, and jeweled. The Black Lip Pearl overlay is used to fire the blade. The color on the pearl is beautiful and the firing is hard and smooth. It is a real beauty!
The Large Regular has been modded by Matt Cucchiarra. When I sent this knife to Matt it had been completely blacked out by the previous owner. While I liked the black coating I was more enthralled with Matt's work so I sent it to him. What Matt did here was strip everything of the black coating. Then he re-blasted the scales and clip. The blade and all the hardware has a beautiful hand satin finish. The scales have been anodized a nice medium blue and have also been given the "Meltdown" treatment. The Fish fizz pattern came to be when I noticed Matt had an "oceanic" theme in alot of his work. My last name, Pescatore, means Fisherman in Italian. I wrote to Matt and asked if he could do a pattern that would incorporate all this and this is what he came up with.
Beautiful work on both knives. I'm very impressed with all the work that was done.
