Hey Y'all,
Here are two Scagle styled hunters that I just finished. They are stock removal pieces made of 1/8" 1095. I edge quenched them in Goddard goop. I have started making test blades for every batch of blades that I heat treat, and I test the test blades to destruction. Boy are they hard to destroy, and they hold a damn good edge(at least what I've done so far. The crown buttcaps are from some sheds that my wifes father gave me a couple of years ago(I like puttin' young does in the freezer myself).
These knives are #'s 11 and 12 for me as a maker. I was inspired to try out the style after seeing the article on Jim Behring in the August issue of blade. His Bird and Trout model really caught my eye. I am giving these knives to two of my neighbors who helped me out during a recent forest fire that happened in our community.
I would love to hear any constructive comments or criticisms, thanks for looking.
