Big family Christmas meal . I ordered a 14# HAM-I-AM from Texas. If you like Southern eatin it is great with collards, sweet taters & cornbraid. Yum-yum !

They have a web site or you can Google them It's worth $89.95 anytime.

Uncle Alan , a cornbread country boy ...:)

Sounds good uncle Alan.

All we need to know is, What time should we show up? :D

Why did I look at that website? That brisket looks darn good.

Luckily, the one of the few good things my wife got from her mother was her ham recipe. We get our holiday hams from Dearborn Sausage. Premium classic trim, bone-in.

10 more days til Christmas for most. For me it's 10 more days 'til I put myself in a ham stupor :D.

A true tale of torture:

My mom died in August, so my two sisters, my wife and grandkids, and I still had our traditional Thanksgiving meal at her house, which is 125 miles from my home. A week later, I went back down there alone to do some shooting and just general decompressing in the rural atmosphere.

First night, I discover the large pot of left over turnip greens and pot likker in the fridge. But, there was not a crumb of cornbread in the house! I resolved to make some, but no cornmeal available either. I was so desperate that I had to experiment, and let me tell you, Grape Nuts cereal is not an acceptable substitute for cornbread in greens.:(
