Today I found out that a friend of mine from Texas A&M, who was in my Company with me there and graduated/commissioned before I did, was killed in Baghdad on the 19th. His name was John Rozier, and he was a 1LT, commanding an armor platoon. Earlier this year, he'd received the Bronze Star for Valor in combat, and all of us have been proud to hear how he has performed. He was a better man and soldier than I'll ever be; and believe me, he's someone you all would have liked to have known.

If you'd like to see a picture of him, look here:

T1mpani,

We are very sorry for your loss. And as Matt pointed out it is a great loss for our country everytime we lose one of our warriors. Our prayers go out to this young man's family and friends.

t1mpani...

Your friend's passing is a great loss for all of us as Americans. His death is all the more intensely painful for those among us who have fought for the things this country stands for and who have also lost brothers in arms in that pursuit.

If you are in contact with his family please express our sorrow and sincerest gratitude for his service and their sacrifice.

God Bless the Warriors.

Our thoughts will be with his family and loved ones.

How can we ever thank our troops enough?

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Last night, on private chat, about ten of us that were his friends and his two brothers had what was much less of a mourning session and much more a Dean Martin Roast. We told every funny story we had about him, and he would have been red in the face when we were through. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It was a funny emotion to end the day on, but I'm glad for it.

t1mpani,
In the end, all any of us can wish for is that we are remembered with a smile. I hope and pray that God fills your heart and the hearts of his family with wonderful memories and the pride of sharing the life of a very fine American son.
Words will never do justice to the sacrifice so many make in the name of our freedom- but more to the point he earned the love and respect of his brothers that would face death with him.
Out.
Bill

Our loss. Heavenly Father's gain. May his wife and son seek comfort from the Lord, family and friends. May we all remember Lt Rozier in our thoughts a prayers and live as he would want us to.
