Dave, I don't think your alone on this.DM:D

Yes, this is true.

You must think like a lawyer or someone in political office.
Let's see, my response would be......."What is your question ? Do you mean how many I have immediately at hand, how many do I see in my area of immediate control or how many that I would claim on insurance if a natural disaster were to occur.
I would also question that the term is relative as there may be some knives I own that are away from my jurisdiction and not under my umbrella of control. How many do I have sir, I say not enough.....How many do I need, I say just one more......It a natural law of the universe and right of free peoples everywhere to seek the natural happiness of the acquisition of just one more knife. Oh, someday day I will say my world is complete and I will not need to have just one more, but even then should a friend need one I will provide for them and then and only then seek a replacement as a balm upon my friendly sacrifice."

Or something like that.

One sad thing is that I need to be a lot better looking to use the wife ploy "I could be chasing women instead of collecting knives." Not working for me anymore.........maybe go the sports car route......

EEE great pictures posted...I can't wait to hear some feedback on the new knives in use.

Great pics EEE. Does the palm swell (or whatever it would be called) on the 498 make it a right-hand-only knife?

Yes, this is correct. Unfortunately for us lefties, the majority of people are still right-handed, so this knife was designed to fit the right hand.

Even a left-handed designer has to accept this fact and make a totally right-handed product every now and then! :)

You guys don't beat me up cause I ain't no Buck basher but here is a comment/review of the 420hc version of the 495 from Dan in Missouri (Knifecenter):

Pros: Blade Sharpness , Sheath/Scabbard , Handle Material , Blade Material , Materials , Weight , Overall Quality , Finish

Two-and-a-half stars would be more appropriate. The blade shape, sharpness, etc. on this knife is great. The handle on the other hand... They have designed this grip asymmetrical, with significant contours and ridges on the left SIDE that are not present on the right. No matter how I shift it around, it just doesn't feel comfortable, except in my left hand. Unfortunately I am right handed. Seems like they tried too hard to make it ergonomic. Anyway, it just doesn't work for me.

This guy's review just doesn't jive with what I was expecting and hearing. Strange.

Earl, over the last 2 years I have truly enjoyed looking at your Bucks! Great pics again...KathyJo does understand how much we love getting new ones.....

One of the guys that works for me just ordered a new Vantage Pro. As soon as he gets it I'll get him to provide an assesment of the knife. I'm anxious to get a look at it first hand.
