First of all. I want to thank you all for supporting Andy in living his dream and supporting my hobby. You all have been awesome to work with. Andy has been very giving of his space and I love that I know my sheaths are going to quality knives.
First - I would like to announce a small design change to my firesteel danglers. I have not been very happy for some time with how the dangler works when a firesteel is placed in it. I have had no issues - but I have wanted to improve efficiency as well as making a stronger connection at the firesteel. In order to do this I have decided to make a two piece firesteel dangler, with two rivets securing the loop in place. I think this is better all the way around. The price remains the same and here is what they will look like:
I think they look nice. I have a setter for them and expect them to be straight, domed on the front and flat on the back.
SECOND -
I have found a no longer produced leather stamp for Andy's Sheaths that I think will add something cool. Here it is:
As long as there is room on the sheath - I will be adding this to the sheath to show it was made for a Fiddleback Forge blade! No extra cost - just fun to do.
THIRD -
Update on progress. Right now I have 9 sheaths going out this week and have made cuts for another 5 sheaths (I am making a run for Dan Koster right now). The plan is to gather orders for a run of five sheaths for Hiking Buddies. I have a hiking buddy so I should have no problem with these. Expect about 2 to 3 months on these.
After this - I want to do a run of 5 bushcrafter sheaths. I will need someones knife for this run and will have an incentive to anyone that will part with the knife for a bit so that I can make a model of the blade. If you are interested let me know - and I will contact you when the time comes. I want the fastest turnaround for this person as I don't want anyone without a blade for very long.
That is about all. Just wanted to give an update.
