Ok, so no I didn't grind these blades myself; all three are preground blades from Jantz. I only had a week and a half's notice to do these and since I still send out for heat treatment that just didn't leave me enough time to grind the blades myself. I don't usually post kit knives, but these turned out pretty so I thought I would post them for those interested! Like I said I didn't grind them, but any comments on the other parts are always appreciated! Thanks for looking!
1. The first one is a VG10 laminated kitchen knife with black vulcanized spacers and stainless steel spacers with a stabilized dyed box elder burl handle. I put a slight upsweep on the handle for added speed while slicing! This thing does a great job at it!
2. This next one is a b-day present for my sister's boyfriend; I believe this will be his first knife! It's a pretty large 440C fighter with blue and black vulcanized spacers and stabilized dyed masur birch. The guard is 416 SS. This is the first time I have done a guard ever..mainly because I was always worried I would mess up the blade. I think it turned out pretty good for the first try though not perfect to say the least (I am definitely buying a file guide for the next one!!). It was a good one to practice on since the guy receiving it is not going to notice if any small scratches were left on the guard and that way I could work out all of the problems on this one without worrying too much!
