Here's a quick shot of 8 of the 12 customs we'll have at the show this weekend. There are a couple of Hellfire's, and Wharnies headed out too.

I hope additional images come to light but I understand they are shipped so additional images cannot be taken till AZ. It's all good either way...additional photos or no additional photos.

Looks like a lucky friend of mine scored the all blue anodized Wharncliffe w/ smooth CF , what a lucky dude!
It must feel great to have your name called knowing there's customs to choose from!

Maybe it was cause I was new, or maybe because I didn't have a Hinderer yet, but when my name was called, there were productions and customs and I just felt lucky period. It was a great feeling. I chose a production but if I ever get lucky again, it will be all custom.

If given the opportunity to be in the lucky position of early choice...well, it's custom all the way. If I didn't own any Hinderer XMs, the choices might be more difficult. But a custom is the truly missing piece (aside from a fixed blade) in my Hinderer "collection". And I'd even select the only custom (if it were the last when my name was chosen).
Some thinking in terms of dollars are going to think..well duh...custom period, if chance presents itself. I'm thinking more like custom period, because it will fill a want on my knife grail list.

If I were to be that lucky, and it was my first, I may be tempted to just get a production because I would want to use it and would be too gunshy to use the custom. But, now that I have production, I would choose Custom 100% of the time. It wouldn't have anything to do with $$$, I want a custom to use and carry! A 3.5" custom spanto all bronzed out with a CF scale, to be exact. Maybe one day:)

There is nothing wrong with picking a production despite both customs and productions being available at the time. I have been at two different lotteries where I have seen it happen, it may be unusual, it doesn't make it wrong no more than picking the custom spanto if there is a custom hellfire on the table or vice versa.

To each their own, pick from the what is available that makes you happy.

I have always believed in owning a Grail and admiring the craftsmenship and design, but then also owning a production that you can use without worrying about scratching or damaging it. Oh course if you have the $$$$ you can just go out and buy two customs and use one and keep the other to look at.

Oh my...good luck to all who are able to attend and enter the lottery! Our next chance will be the Blade Show in Atlanta!

Uhmmm...this lotto came and went, but your words ring true. I parrot your good luck wishes to all who enter lotteries hoping to get the knife they have been wanting.

It is a bummer not to be called; but it's uplifting to see someone score the XM they have sought. I'm talking about the person who gets one for themselves...it's pretty sweet to watch, as I know how it feels to get the item you really want from time to time.
