A few Foxy Folly questions ( and pics)

Hey everyone, I just picked up a blem Foxy Folly the other day, and I was wondering about the intended usage for this blade before I received it. Then I received it, and now I have even more questions!

This sucker is HUGE! The blade has more belly that I had though and the handle it giant, nearly two hands can fit on it ( I wear large size gloves). The handle is an easy fix, I'll probably thin it down and shape it a bit ( it will also bring out the grain of the wood, that from what I can tell is pretty stunning). But I'm more worried about the blade, are these meant for usage ( wood, etc) or are these more a show piece. I did some searching and couldn't really find any usage reviews anywhere ( maybe I didn't hunt long enough)

For the weight ( 30 oz) it's very light in hand yet it feels like it could decapitate something with relative ease. The fit and finish is superb, a really beautiful blade.

Almost looks see through

Any knowledge about this model and its intentions are greatly appreciated, thanks everyone

Hmm, general use only then. Not really worried about the warranty ( being a blem and all). Anyone ever used one for a bit of harder use?

The wood is gorgeous on that thing. Is the girth of the handle the issue or the length?

I personally think it would be up to some tough task if you can stand to apply it, it being so pretty and all. It is a tool, just a very pretty tool.

More of a girth thing, a bit to thick in hand, the length isn't a problem. And yeah, the wood is really nice, great grain, that's why I'm thinking if I sand it a bit thinner, then bring with up to a high finish and soak in some tung oil, it should really pop

At 30oz it should be thick enough for chopping work but it wasn't the blades primary design. Mine is 18" long and 26oz with a short handle and bolster. More of a fighter than a chopper.

Wow! I saw when that Fox came up on DOTD. I didnt realize they had such a hefty handle. Absolutely gorgeous knife! Thanks for posting this info as I had this knife figured for something else. That would almost have to be a two hander for my boudin fingers.

I'm thoroughly impressed with this blade, I'm going to take it to some real wood soon, in increments to see how it holds up and what it can take. But I've done this same thing with my Zilla, HI ASTK, HI UVK, Scrapyard 1311 and a cheap machete and never gone anywhere close to this deep with one chop.

That one is not really built for processing firewood. You've seen a bit of its magic. Don't push it too far and bend the blade. It is thin and fast for a reason, and the reason is not camp chores.

A single slash going 6" deep through a sheet of 1/4" plywood? That is positively scary for a fighting blade.

Thank you for this response, I'll definately be easy on this one.

Just had to go measure it, it's actually 7 inches into half inch thick plywood.
