Just noticed this forum, sure are some beautiful hawks. This is the only real nice one I have.Have seven other that are not near the quality. This maker is from around Oxford,Ohio but I have lost track of his name. The handle is tear drop shape...Mike

The handle is 20" long. The head is 6"long with a 3"bit.It is marked L&C for Lewis&Clark with 1803 on it.I added the tac work.I have a 1803 Navy Arms Flintlock so I had to buy this when I ran acrossed it...Mike

MtnFolk Mike,Thanks for telling me about the forum,Hope your hawk arrives before Wed.Dust One,thanks.MikeA has some of the nicest I have seen. The ball peen hammer sure makes great steel for a hawk....Mike

Good lookin' hawks Mike. I especially like the one from the Ohio maker. I really like the lines of it, namely the beard and the spike.

Thanks for the kind words about my collection. I only claim ownership, but the real kudos go out to the skilled 'smiths who made them what they are.

Thanks for sharing!

I love that spike hawk in the stand alone pic. Clean, good looking, man sized hawk.
