Here are a few knives ive had in family or since I was a kid and was wondering if u guys could pass along some info on them.....thanks im tryin to learn what I can

dont have much in the way of help or information but i have a barlow with 'the ideal' stamped on the tang similar to your second pix. an elderly friend of the family gave it to me when i was thirteen or so because she thought a boy should have a pocketknife. dont carry it anymore because i am afraid i might lose it.

Can't help with individual marks but looks like a great cross section of popular patterns and working knives of the mid-20th century.

All the knives are identifiable if you can read the tang stamps. I've sent you a PM.

Imperial
Ideal's version of the Kamp King
The German knife and the Sabre (Japanese) are the only non-US knives it appears. It's tough to say because A lot of companies made cheap, good steel working/kid's knives like these. Great knives. I have a bunch. The crowns are Imperials. The rest, the tang will tell you. Classic examples of "drug store"/"general store" knives that were everywhere back in the day.

That Imperial (I think) Barlow is pretty much as traditional as you can get (never mind, not opening that can of worms...it's a very traditional pattern, at least in the US).

Neat knives. Valuable because they were family knives. Monetarily, not valuable, if that's what you're asking. But I have a group much like that one that I inherited that are my most treasured knives. I've never seen that Ideal. I have a few, but in different patterns.

The brass one with the bail could be a colonial or Imperial, can't tell.

The bottom one is an IKCO, made by Imperial. It may be the oldest out of the group, although the one with the sparkly cell covers may be as old, can't read the tang stamp on it. The IKCO looks as if the covers have gassed out, basically the material breaks down and gives off a gas that corrodes metal. Don't know how far it has ate into the metal. Keep it and sparkly one away from other knives.

The Imperials look to have the stamped shell metal covers. They can dent fairly easily if used or squeezed hard. The steel is quite good in them, and they will take a good edge and will make good users.

Hard to give a lot of info based on the pictures but some of them seem to be very Imperialish.
