1. How big is the Mini-Manix (what does it compare to)? I like knives the size of a CQC-7, Vex, Monochrome, and Pika. I am worried that the big Manix will be too big and the Mini will be too small, like the Grips are. Can anyone coment on the size of the Manix and Mini-Manix compared to the knives I listed above?

2. Is the Manix or Mini-Manix better than the BM 710, in other words, which would you rather have if you could own only one of those three?

You will not find the mini-Manix small. The blade is shorter but the handle still feels quite large. It is not like the change from a GM Griptilian to the mini-Griptilian.

It would be a hard to choose between the Manix and the BM 710. I love (and own) both knives. It would be a personal choice (like most things).

1) The Mini-Manix is about a half inch shorter in the blade and a half inch shorter in the handle than the Manix, but it is the same width and thickness. It is far from a mini. It is almost exactly the same overall length as the Emerson CQC-7, although the ergos are very different. In fact, the Mini-Manix is very close to the size of the 551 Griptillian, and dwarfs the Mini-Grip completely.

2) Can't help there, as I own all three. I can say that I carry the Manix and Mini, but not the 710. Personal choice is the word here.

There was a great picture in the Spyderco forums of a Mini Manix next to a Mini Griptilian, but I can't find it and the Spyderco site is having issues. As others have said, the 2 blades are the same size, but the Mini Manix's handle is huge. I don't think you will have to worry about the Mini Manix being too small.

Here is a picture I found comparing a griptilian and a Mini Manix
