I posted this a few other places. This is an Endura I have been using and modifying lately.

Blade has been re-ground on DMTs (now a little over 0.5 mm thinner), the spine was rounded, the edge re profiled, blade polished, clip polished, lock bar file worked, warranty VOIDED:D

What's that funky Spyderco thingy reflected in the polished bale in post #4? An edge angle indicator of some sort? And do you have an extra you don't want? :D

That is precisely what it is. Spyderco made a limited run of these last year and they sold out quickly. I only have this one...sorry, no extras:D

I like this very much. The polished blade and the filling are awesome.

Thanks. I will post up more description regarding the modifications later if anyone is interested.

The blade was thinned by a little over 0.5mm, the edge was re-profiled, the clip and blade were both polished, the spine was rounded, and the lock bar was filed. Everything was done by hand except the clip (polished with a rotary tool).

Thanks again.

Why did you thin the blade? I always wanted a purple endura, id buy one in a second if they offered it in zdp, really wanna try that steel out. I really like the black left in the spider depression, looks good!

I like the slicing performance of a thin blade (like the Delica on the right in the first image), but also like the length of the Endura blade. By thinning and reprofiling, I get something that performs even better for cutting and slicing.

If you like ZDP, you might enjoy the Stretch II. You can thin that stuff WAY down and still have good edge retention depending on how you use it.

Thanks for the info! I'll start an enag on Sal. See if I can get him to make some more. :D

"Polished Bale"?! What was I typing? It was late, I guess.

Chris, good luck on convincing him to make more. I am not sure, but I think they did not make much money on them, and it sort of felt like the project generated more questions and complaints than praise (there was a feedback thread started for this project). It is a really neat device, but it does what it does....nothing more...and using it as intended requires some patience, skill, and care. In all honesty, I only pull it out a few times a year.

Regarding the Bale...I knew what you meant;)
