Are these boring yet? Im still having a blast playing with them, especially in these nasty winter months when im inside and not at work.

Man, both of these had some of the WORST looking handles I have ever seen. I swear, one of them was used to beat rocks, or used as a pry-bar before I got it. I still did what I could with it.

The one with the Black handle is 2in shorter, probably about 15in. The longer one is the one that had the jacked up handle, you can still see a lot of the nicks. I didnt put a lot of effort into that one. Sanded it down, threw some stain on and let her roll. I spent a little more time on the short one. I still need to put an edge on both of them.

I need more details. What is the finish? Blasted? Grey finish?
I like them.

I used a Deck Stain on both of them. The shorter one was nearly black, I rubbed it down to get some light to show. The tan wrapped one took a honey colored deck stain. I was sanding with 400grt every 2 coats. After that, both of them got minwax rub on satin varnish. Its pretty tough stuff, a lot of people use it on wooden handrails and banisters for stairs. About 4 coats of this stuff.

As for the heads, I bead blasted both of them. Spend a lot of time against the belt sander removing some of the nasty casting boo-boos, and rounding some edges. After that, both of them were primed, and then shot with Rustoleum Hammered finish. I have used this stuff before, and so far, its holding up pretty good.
