Well, I have aquired, and sold, quite a few blades and other sharp objects in the last few weeks.

The mania seems to be slowing down as I am getting close to having what I want.

Here is my new Machette:

A Bark River modified Knives Ship Free Machette in Red Micarta. I have always had my eye on this one - and finally picked on up. It came ridiculous sharp (in fact one slip almost necessitated a trip to the E.R. yesterday) is very strong, and takes an even sharper edge with a little work. I coated the sheath (after forming it) with Montana Pitch Blend and let it dry.

This will be with me in low brush situations and for areas where an Axe would be impractical.

I also picked up a Gansfors Bruks Small Forest Axe. I went on Ray Mear's recommendation as well as many others on this forum - and could not be happier. It came VERY sharp well balanced, and well set. I sharpened it more and put a polish on it, coated the handle in a light coat of Linseed Oil and put some Gun Oil on the head. I then set to making kindling. Look in the background of the picture and you will see a STACK of kindling made easy with this axe.

Also in the picture above you see a few more blades that finish out a Nessmuck Trio.

The Bark River Knife Forums Hiking and Camping Forum knife. It is essentially what I have been looking for for a VERY long time. Under a 4 inch blade with a very comfortable handle. It is built on the Aurora Blank and thus has the Aurora handle - but a thinner blade and the same great sabre ground convex edge that the Aurora is known for. It is very similar to the Gunny - but a slightly more spear point as opposed to a drop point and the handle is a little larger. This has become the go to blade.

Next is a inexpensive purchase. The SAK one handed Sentinal Clip Knife. It is VERY thin, has a nice long blade and has a great pocket clip that makes it a great EDC. This is my city EDC. For the woods I carry an Alox farmer with a pocket clip for the saw. This has the addition of the tweasers and tooth pick which make it a great office EDC. I put a convex edge on it and it is a razor.

Well, that is it. I have a few more knives to sell here in the next few weeks to make room for these - so keep your eyes out. ;)

I hadn't seen the the brk machete, that's an impressive looking specimen. They have a very distinct style, when the pick loaded I thought "that's gotta be a barkie.
Great stuff, man.

Good stuff man! I really dig that BRKT machete, and I don't even normally care about machetes. I've had an SFA on my 'want' list for a while, but so far my Wetterlings 19" has done everything I've needed so I can't justify it!

I picked up a Bark River Machette a few months ago. A high quality piece of work. The BRK golok is my go-to blade for yard work and general chopping duties.

I had a BRKT machete for awhile and loved it. Great mods, and the sheath alone makes it worth the asking prices on em....

Good stuff!!

I too aquired a OH sentinel. I love it, it rides in my pocket for city EDC as well. My alox farmer is the woods folder. Great minds think alike!!!

The SAK is great for the money. I think everyone should try one out. Im a fan of the steel Vic uses, takes an edge well, and has always held up well for me....

Nice scores TF!!
