Civivi baklash - This is the first Chinese brand knife I've had, and I'm very pleased with it so far, especially considering it was only $42. I wish the lock engaged slightly further onto the tang, as it's only about 50% engaged, but I'm not going to baton it or anything, so I imagine it will be fine. I would like the choil to be smaller, or just not there, but I knew what I was getting, so I can't complain. I did some slicing with it today at work, and it did fine until I ran the choil into the cardboard, lol. I'm used to my rift and blur and using that part of the blade. Overall it feels solid, nice weight distribution, flipper action is nice and takes very little effort, and I think they did a great job with the texture on the scales. Came with a nice little zip up case and cloth, i didn't expect that.
Cold steel razor tek 6.5" - This is intended to be the farm knife relief for my kabar and condor bolo machete I normally have with me. They are 12 and 10 years old, and have lost a lot of blade material over the years of sharpening. Felt like it was time to add another to that rotation. I like the balance of it, and the feel of the scales. I'll probably do some work around the barn this weekend, so I'll give it some use then.
Schrade 3ot old timer - I bought this for my son since I was already purchasing some knives. He's not ready for it yet, but I'll have it when he is. It looks like it was lightly used and returned, unless they were just sloppy making the edge at the factory. It's a $15 knife though, overall the blade is fine, lockup is good and it feels solid.
Benchmade freek 560-03 - This is my first knife in s90v. It was between this and the bugout 535bk-4 in m390 and aluminum, but it just felt small for the size, and the thumb stud felt lower profile or something. I thought it looked great, just didn't feel right for me. Anyway, honestly I'm a little underwhelmed by this freek after getting it, ordered from knifecenter as my local place hasn't been getting them in. There's a slight wire edge that can be felt when scraping against it with a fingernail leaning towards the side opposite of the pocket clip, and the Axis lock is gritty feeling, a lot more so than the other few benchmades I've had. The lock also sticks pretty strongly when flipping it open with any force (less force than my auto rift opens with) it makes me think of racking the bolt on my mosin nagant after firing it, lol. However, looking on the bright side, grittiness and sticking are better than slop, as they can be improved. I love the blade shape, and the carbon fiber scales feel pretty good, not quite as slick feeling as a lot of carbon fiber scales. Definitely feels blade end heavy due to the partial liners.
imgur is giving me the same url for each picture, so I hope this posts them all.
