Nothing makes a Monday at work easier to deal with than the mail man dropping of a few new knifes !!! I just got these dring my lunch break. All three we aquired in a trade. I owned a Vic farmer a couple years ago, and traded it off, only to regret it, so when I was offered these two, I just couldn't resist. The Camillus I know nothing about. It looked kind of cool, so I figured, what the heck. It's a model #99. Not a bad knife at all, although I'm not a fan of the plastic handles. This one probably won't see too much pocket time, but one of those farmers will.

I find the different colored alox scales on the SAKs intrigueing but rarely see them come listed on web-sites. I see the "silver" and every now and then the red, received a green in trade. Were these special editions?

Probably better for me not to know as I might go on the hunt for them more than I should but it would be nice to know.

As much as I like the SAKs, the Camillus would see a lot more pocket time for me. I just love the style.

Until I broke the awl. It was bent and was pushing against the main blade, so I tried to "fix" it. Didn't work out so good.
dang  oh, well some stones, grinders and elbow grease and imagination I think you can make something useful...

I already did. It's a little on the stubby side though, lol. To be totally honest, the Camillus just doesn't appeal to me. I had never had that pattern knife, so when someone offered it in a trade, I figured I'd give it a shot, but it's just not for me.
