Hi
Thought I may get a few new comers interested in forum with a few pics. Anyone else want to pull out some of there favourites from collection and post a few on here?? What do they say "a picture is worth a - - - ???"

The top one is not normal etching its Deep acid etched, great detail for a small knife. I didnt know they could do it this intricately till I purchased this one.

Please excuse the buck knife in second pic, thought Id include it (2nd down), its heavy recessed pewter, is a nice one!
Cheers Tim

Tim,
Those are some sweet looking knives. How do you get the pics to come out so sharp? I've got some knives I'd like to show but the quality of the pics I just can't seem to get.

Hi Ducks and Bucks,
I don't know how Tim does his photos, but I get the best results by placing the knives on a flatbed scanner. My results with a camera are hit-or-miss, but here are some tips to get you started:

* don't use a flash
* use a camera with manual-focus capability
* more light = better
You can build a light box to evenly display the knife in diffused lighting. You can search the forums and find instructions for building one, plus lots more info on photography.

Good Luck,
-Bob

Here are a few of my favorites, plus some less-than-desirable knife-shaped objects (note the junkers in the top left of each photo).

Unfortunately (fortunately?) these group photos never stay up-to-date, but this was my Accumulation as of January.

Nice collection Bob. I'm only at about 30 of what I call collector knives. The rest are users and not really in any shape to proudly display other than in my pocket (which is where I think the ultimate place of honor is for a knife).

Yeh, thanks, that skoal is a nice one, has a little deep etching on it as well.

Bob,
What a collection you have !!!!! Is that really a blue handled 60T??? What is that second knife up from bottom of lower pic on left, Looks real tough and purpose built !! what is it?
Kind Regards Tim

No. My 6OT is in the far right bottom of the first photo, and it's the brown Delrin. The other knife in the Old Timer section that appears similar is a cheap Frontier lockback.

I think you're refering to the Ek Bowie, the knife with the blade extending past the photo edge. Mine was made in Effingham, Illinois by Blackjack Knives. They are now made by a different company in Virginia.

:thumbup: Nice diverse collection there Bob. Also some very nice pics Tim.

Here is some folders, about half of them get rotated in and out of daily carry. Some days I really just can't decide.:confused:

If I get a knife that is anything less than mint condition I usually carry for a while and then in the drawer it goes.

Here's a couple of my favorite fixes but these pictures just don't do them justice.
