I thought I would post a few (or 10) of my favorite Victorinox knives from my collection. I stopped collecting SAKs and I no longer consider myself a collector, but I do enjoy these particular specimens the most.

First up is my vote for best SAK of all time. The original 84mm Golfer. Blade. Scissors. Combo tool. Long nail file. And of course the corkscrew as well as toothpick/tweezers.

This next one is very special to me as the Farmer was my first "real" pocketknife. This one is a Victorinox Collector's Club exclusive copper model from 2005.

Forget the name of this one, but I dig the marlin spike. Also includes main blade and the saw. No other tools.

I like the monochrome of this guy.

Who says SAKs can't be elegant? Love the Director. Orange peeler and all--

Another Farmer. This one in a beautiful blue.

The First Mate. King of the Victorinox Navy...

Farmer with old school shield.

I call this one a Soldier because it has no key ring. I do not like key rings on my knives...they snag my pockets and make holes, and they are uncomfortable in my hand.

Lastly, a Soldier with a pruning blade instead of a can opener. I forget the name. But I dig the pruning blade.

Thanks for looking!

Nice display of SAK's!:thumb up:

The golfer is a nice model, but I'm prejudiced toward any compact SAK with the combo tool. I don't think you can ever go wrong having a SAK with you. I know that so many times I've flown in someplace, and mailed a SAK to myself so as to have a pocket knife on hand, making do with only a SAK was no big deal at all. The Florida Key's, the Sea Islands of Georga, pony trekking in the Black Mountains of Wales, the SAK was all I needed from cutting bait to opening cold brew ski's.

I know we, the afflicted and obsessed, love our trappers, barrow's, stockmen, and even our peanuts, but a SAK in the pocket can deal with so much. They have an appeal all their own.

That Golfer is neat - I never realized it had the long nail file. It's very similar to the contemporary Compact, with the only differences 91 instead of 84 mm frame, plus scales, and the carrying hook with nail file integrated.

Thanks for sharing. You have some awesome knives in your collection. I really like the sailor model. The marlin spike looks like it would be very handy.

Thanks for the assist with the names, Billym. At one time I knew them all, but it's been a while. SAKs were all I carried for over twenty years until my grandfather died and left me his old Case. But to this day, when I buy a hundred dollar traditional, the standard I hold it to in terms of walk and talk is a twenty dollar Vic.

Nice! I haven't seen many of those. I've been looking for a Director for months! I have had an Executive for years and really like it and have been looking for the more spruced up Director. That all silver alox with the old style cross emblem is really cool too! I missed an Electrician that looked just like it on the exchange a few weeks ago. I like the sleek look of the silver on silver.
