The only thing worthy enough to go with those is a Swenson Custom .45,a good looking blonde, and a convertible. But that is only my opinion .......

as both a knifeman and a Rolexman, my heart can't take too much of that, and a Daytona no less.

A SS/Daytona, a Two tone Submariner, AND a half moon Emerson. -- and the watches on a two headed winder! It don't get much better than that! I'd keep that window shade closed at night! Keep the photos coming!

And Merry Christmas to everyone on this Emerson Forum! It's been a fun year.

I always said, knives, guns & watches all go together. The watch on the left is actually a Tudor (A branch of Rolex) Chrono. I wish it was a SS Daytona. The picture isn't too clear so it looks like a Daytona. It's circa 1982 so it has the acrylic crystal, Rolex case, trip lock crown heavy bracelet. Best part of it is that it has a date. Daytona doesn't. It's not one of the newer Tiger Woods editions. I had a vintage 1979 GMT I which I just sold to my buddy. Miss it already.

Donald, the blue thing is a watch winder. It rotates the watches a few times each day in different direction so that the watches stay wound. It's not good to let a automatic watch sit. The oils thicken.

Here's another picture. I've enclosed a pic of my daily watch & my favorite. The one on the right, a Rolex Sea Dweller. It's a Submariner on steriods. The crystal is actually too thick for Rolex to put the cyclops for the date window. It has a helium valve on the side for deep saturation divers. (Deepest I ever went was probably 10 feet

)Built like a tank & never misses a second. It took a good beating every weekend this summer. Took alot of nasty spills on a Seadoo wave runner going around 63 MPH. Hurt like hell. Watch kept ticking, but more importantly, it stayed on my wrist. Watch spent most of the day in salt water.

Sorry for the ranting & wrong forum. But get me started on watches & I can talk forever.

Nothing wrong with a Tudor, my first Rolex was a Tudor Sub, but it was an 1989, the first year(I believe) that they were offered as a smaller size, never was happy with it, went out and bought a Rolex in 91, a SS Sub. Never did take to the Sea Dweller, with my eyes, I need that magnification. Right now, I have my jeweler buddies looking for the Two-Tone now, also in blue, but need to find someone who has a real deal, they keep climbing in value. Have fun on you vacation, are you down here in Florida? (this is where all New Yorkers end up eventually) Al

I like the Tudor better then the Daytona only because it has a date. Not a Daytona, but still pretty nice.

I got my TT Sub at a great price. Never really wear it, but I like to have it. Was a Birthday present from the wife.

Funny you mention that all New Yorkers wind up in Florida. Seems like Florida is the only place I can get to at this point. (Can make it there by car in 16 hours) No flights anywhere because of the holidays.

Take care,
David

David T,

Hello David T,
As a fellow Sea Dweller owner, I must say that you have a nice collection of watches my friend. Also, just got my first Emerson, a Black T SOCFK.
Expensive hobby, eh... collecting knives and watches...hehehe.
Merry Christmas.

Allan R.

Ed,
Thanks, The explorer 2 is a great watch. Is yours a white face?

Laserman1,
Thanks, I know what your're talking about on the increasing value of Rolex watches. I was looking at a pic of my dad when he was younger. (Probably 40 years ago) It was the first time I ever noticed that we was wearing a Rolex Prince. I asked him as to the whereabouts of that watch. He told me that he wasn't sure, maybe in the safe deposit box at the bank? He says why would you want that watch anyway. It's old & I only probably paid $350.00 for it when it was new. It's probably not worth anything

Allan,
Thanks.Watches & knivess. They can definately drain you bank account. These hobbies are on hold for a while. I have to concentrate on filling a house with furniture. Sniper308 knows what I'm talking about.

David T,

My Explorer 2 is the black face version. It was interesting when I went to buy it (1995), none of the large jewellers in London (including ROLEX) had one in stock, so it was a special order. The comment from ROLEX was that it was one of the rarer watches, but always in demand.

Bit like a CQC6 I guess.

Regards,

Ed

To be honest, I really don't remember seeing a black faced one, ever. Maybe only in catalogs & magazines. I see alot of white faced ones though. Got Pic?? Please share.

David T,

Happy to provide a picture. I have also put in a bit of knife content to keep our moderator happy (don't want to upset anybody on Christmas Day

I've purchased a couple of Rolexs this past year including a SS/Black faced Daytona, and a SS/Submariner that I wish I still had. Still looking for a new Seadweller, but here is a photo of several of my favorites including the SS/Platinum Yacht-Master worn daily, along with a Gold President with Diamond Bezel, which goes nicely with the fancy Pre-Tactical.

Ed, the black face is much nicer then the white faced ones.

Laser, $1,000.? Too bad I didn't collect watches, or should say couldn't afford watches back then.

Sniper, Man, you've got alot of toys. Nice President.

Ok, time to step this thread up a notch. I know you guys will have plenty pics to add. I already sent this pic to John Hollister for the gallery but I figure it would go with the string

Okay, I don't know anything about watches, and only a little more about knives, but did no one else notice that edmoses's sark was sharpened all the way to the tip? I know I haven't been real active on the forums lately, so maybe I missed a special project, but I really like that knife ed!

Well, I only own one watch.....but at least its a Rolex GMT Master-stainless with black face. Daily wear for the last 15 years. Emerson customs and Rolex's, life is good.
