Well, its that time of year again- Spring Turkey Season!!! So I've spent the last couple days in the woods watching turkeys and deer. It's been great!

I thought I'd take a photo of a few of my favorite things that accompany me to the spring woods.

Remington 870, 3" Hevishot shells, a custom turkey call, and what's that knife?

It's a JK Kentucky Fieldmate, which I use on all my turkeys.

Saturday nights meal was buffalo turkey nuggets. I thought of a photo just before finishing eating, they went fast. Talk about good, and followed it up with peach cobbler/ice cream. (No wonder I'm gaining weight)

Yum - thanks Derek!

Those nuggets look delicious - and love the picture of your carry stuff on the tail feathers -

Thanks!

best

Nice knife but does not seem to be in JK's catalog. I have a lot of neckers but that might be nice with a 3.5-4.0" blade.

John still makes them I think, it only recently gone of the list, I didn't even notice and I was looking at it not so long ago on there.

It's a very nice knife, i borrowed one from Outdoorsfan a while back, if I didn't have my own small JK knife, I think my go to small fixed blade would be the Kentucky Fieldmate.

(I was going to post a picture but photobucket recently made me get rid of a bunch and it seems the fieldmate got swept up in the net, dang :()

Here's one in scandi (well more of a scandi-vex now)
