1. Is it not possible that once you pay for a gold membership, the software changes your group membership? It makes the gold group available, seems like it could check it for you?

2. What good did it do for me to consolidate my postings if there is no way to delete the previous ones? It just added one more to the page and causes more confusion it seems? Why not just a warning that from now forward put multiple listings in one thread?

3. I now have a thread with 4 knives for sale, I understand that ad goes for two weeks before I can relist it. What if I decide to sell another knife? Do I have to add it to that thread? Do I get to start another thread for it? Or will I get another 'possible infraction' for that.

4. How long between individual for sale postings should there be? If I want to post a knife a day? Or is that too fast?

I am asking these things so I will not upset the mods again and to make sure that I didn't pay 25.00 for being able to have one classified listing every two weeks

Delete the contents, change the thread title, then lock the thread.

If you would have read the rules and faqs before you posted you wouldn't have screwed all the guys that you bumped
down the first page. I didnt appreciate it. Now you start a thread blaming everyone but yourself. Not a good start.

OK guys I am not blaming anyone but myself. I challenge you, grybsh7, to point out where I put the blame on anyone.

Also, grybsh7 I hope that you are sending everyone with more than one post in a row, and I saw a few, this same message. I did as the MOD asked, I consolidated them and locked the others. I don't appreciate you climbing my back in a post for help...

I was told my a MOD to post my questions in here and either the mod or the owner would answer them. If you are not a MOD or the owner, or at least trying to answer my questions, please do not reply to this post....

1. The software does NOT automatically change your group. Previous incarnations of the software did. Not this one. The developer is aware, and working on it.

2. If you need threads consolidated, ask one of the Exchange area mods, or one of the super mods. We'll be glad to get you fixed up.

3. Read the FAQ's, and the rules for The exchange forums. See the links in my sig line. You'll answer your own questions by reading. As far as an infraction for listing a new knife in a new thread, no.

4. Lose the attitude. grybsh7 is trying to help you. He knows, understands, and follows the rules.

5. Again, leave the attitude outside. Be nice, respectful of all, and follow the very simple rules. By doing so, you will have an enjoyable forum experience, in a very good community.

As this question wasnt specifically addressed, I'll address it.

If you are posting a knife a day, chances are that you are a dealer or flipping for profit. I which case you should be purchasing a dealer membership and selling in the dealer forums and not in the individual areas under a cheaper membership.

Thank you for your answer Karda, I do not have any more knives to sell at all, only these 4. I was just wondering for future reference. I would rather list one a day for 4 days so they would be separate listings.

Mike G, thank you also for your answers, I was told to consolidate my posts and I did, I was not told to let a mod know once I had done it.

I do not believe I am showing an attitude, grybsh7 was not trying to help me by telling me how I screwed people and how he didn't appreciate it. All he told me was to read the rules, which by then, I had. Which is why I posted questions for help...

I am trying to abide by the rules. I read the FAQs and the rules before I posted here. You were the one that told me to post my questions in here.

Again, apologies to anyone that takes this as Attitude, I am just trying to learn, and set the record straight.

No problem, kiltednerd.
The written word on forums can be tricky. Offense can be taken where none intended and vice versa.
Sometimes it helps to take a step back and re-read several times. It also helps to choose words wisely.

Even if you list those 4 on separate days, you may be asked to consolidate. The point is to not crowd others out on the first page.

The system isn't perfect and a moderators job is never done and is never easy. Often it is quite thankless. The Moderators here are all volunteer with lives of their own. This will explain the sometimes terse responses you may get.
Overall the mods here are quite lenient and helpful, but it pays to have a thick skin, be mindful of the rules and treat each other as we would like to be treated.
